They appear to … Read more A colorful set of five Chinese hand-painted scenes that seem to tell a story with intricate details. They appear to be painted on silk--you can see the woven texture of the medium and I'm guessing they are executed in gouache or egg tempera, probably late 19th/early 20th century. The colors are still rich and vibrant and their faces have great detail. All are signed in the lower left or right with a stamp. There is some water staining to some of the mats and some minor water stains to two of the pictures but overall, they are in good condition given their age. All are framed in faux bamboo frames with grained mats. Image size is 6" square. Outside measurements are 9 3/4" square. An impressive grouping. See less
