Antique Indian dowry or jewelry box, c.1870
Rectangular in shape with a peaked top and a carrying handle. Having a red painted lacquer body, in geometric patterns, and bound in decorative steel. The interior has a small lided compartment. In well used and worn condition with some old repairs, but still a good looking box.
