This example is made of wood, finely carved with ornamental motifs typical of the baroque or rococo style, characterized by volutes, leaf elements and elaborate frames. The surface of the wood is lacquered, with a gold finish or an ivory/cream tone with gold details, although the wear of time has given it a patina and aged appearance. In some areas, the lacquer appears peeling or missing, revealing the wood underneath and testifying to its antiquity. In the center of the carved frame there is a cartouche, a sort of small framed box, containing a text written in ancient characters, probably in latin or archaic italian. The cartouche is decorated at the edges with hand-painted floral motifs, with small roses and green leaves which add a touch of color and delicacy to the whole. The overall shape of the cartagloria is sinuous and lively, with protrusions and recesses that create a play of light and shadow. The upper part features a more elaborate decorative element, while the base is made up of small carved feet that slightly raise the cardgloria. The object as a whole exudes a sense of sacredness, craftsmanship and history, reflecting the mastery of the carvers and the religious devotion of the era in which it was made. Its current condition, with the signs of time, increases its charm and historical-artistic value.
