The Costela (Rib) chairs and sofas by Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler became an instant success after their introduction in the Brazilian market, and it wasn’t for long that production was partly moved to Europe to meet the growing demand there.
The lounge chairs here for sale have been produced under license in Italy during the 1960s by Forma Moveis, Brescia IT.
Each chair consists of 8 individual upward curving ribs, placed on a lightweight metal frame with brass details. The ribs support two loose cushions which have been reupholstered by a master-reupholsterer using new high-density foam, thus ensuring a good support.
The Fabric selected is “Schwarzwald” or Black Forest by Dedar Milano: Note that both chairs have matching patterns, buttons included.
