This amazingly detailed centerpiece - crafted with the utmost precision and attention to detail - dates back to 1900 and features a vibrant floral pattern that serves as a backdrop for three cherubs, each one delicately sculpted to showcase the exquisite craftsmanship of the era. Designed by renowned Dresden potter Carl Thieme, this 8" ceramic bowl is a true testament to the artistry of the early 20th century and is a stunning example of Dresden's storied tradition in art pottery. It is both a striking decorative piece and a slice of history that would grace any collection or home today with its timeless beauty.
Thieme was a German artist born in 1816 who opened his porcelain shop in 1864 - originally known as Sachsische Porzellan-Fabrik Carl Thieme zu Potschappel - and went on to become a highly respected potter whose works today are highly sought after and can be found in museums and private collections around the world. His shop, later known as Thieme Potschappel Dresden or simply Dresden, has become known worldwide as a luxury brand whose delicate porcelain pottery line is synonymous with the most intricate designs with the finest of detail.
This piece - which stands 3 inches tall and weighs 1.2 pounds - personifies this excellence and artistry. Fabulous from every angle - from the cherubs' tiny etched toes to the gold-trimmed edges of the design and the exquisite texture of the intricate buds and blooms - imagine this fabulous piece on display under the lights of a curio or atop a favorite tabletop stage within your own personal showcase of revered possessions and a beautiful slice of history.
We're biased but we think it's one of the most well preserved and precious versions out there. We take pride in sharing only what we personally love and prize and will take immaculate care in sending it along in a pristine environment to its next loving home.
