Saint Servais was originally founded in 1873 and went out of business in 1956, it was located in the town of Saint-Servais, a suburb of Namur, Belgium. The company was very productive in the period between the two World Wars and was extremely well known for the high quality of its enamelware, often referred to as "graniteware".
Clover's Cottage believes the piece was made during the 1930's but has been unable to find much detail about the historic evolution of the markings of the company, thus the representation that it is vintage pre-1956 because the company ceased doing business in 1956.
