And it is large - definitely has presence. I don't think it was ever intended to be an outdoor piece; rather, an indoor piece of folk art sculpture. It is very colorful, very well made, and just fun to look at. It is all wooden, except for the metal piece that moves the guys on the see saw. There are 3 different moving pieces - the 4 guys on the see saw go up and down when the tall whirly moves,, the 2 guys in the gazebo go around when the whirl on top of the building moves, and 2 guys sitting on top of the yellow and red whirly go around when it moves. The one dude sitting on the green is just watching. The base is a nice piece of painted wood and the rest of the piece as you can see is painted in cheerful red, yellow, green and a touch of blue. The signature looks like R Tate and it is dated 1984. I believe the artist is from Illinois and if I have the right artist, some of his work was produced by Midwest Cannon Falls. However, I think this is a one of a kind original. It is wood, not resin, and the signature looks like it is scratched in. The construction appears to be handmade. It is just so cool and makes a great piece of Americana complete with the American flag. Truly a piece of art. The little gazebo is approximate 12" tall x 7.5" x 6" square, to give further ideas of the scale of the piece. See less
