A dramatic 19th century French cast concrete table base resembling a Corinthian column, topped with a more recent (20th century) red marble surface of equally stunning detail. The broad and opulent disc of polished marble reveals alternating veins of dark red and ribbons of grey swirled with streaks of white. Sculptural acanthus leaves wrap the table base, rising from the floor to meet the four volutes of the abacus (the flat surface upon which the marble slab rests).
