Under the top, there is a compartment where various games are stored. This table was made between 1850 and 1855 in pure Louis Philippe style in a craft workshop in Nantes, a city in the Loire Valley in France, which was famous for furniture production during the 18th and 19th centuries. The furniture produced in Nantes was known for its elegant style and use of fine woods. The Louis Philippe style moved away from the imperial magnificence and pomp of the Napoleonic period, adopting a softer and more elegant style that catered to the needs and tastes of a broader social stratum, such as the wealthy bourgeoisie.
