Vase of my own design, which I named “Field of a Thousand Red Poppies.” Executed in a kiln in Murano … Read more Vase of my own design, which I named “Field of a Thousand Red Poppies.” Executed in a kiln in Murano with the very difficult working technique called “a piera.” The design of the vase stylizes the flowering of a field of red poppies with a blue sky inspired by Fabrizio de Andre's song “La guerra di Piero” an anthem against war. The body of the Vase is composed of an original mosaic of fine black filigree (the stems) and bright red tesserae (the poppies) and deep aquamarine glass canes (the sky), an intense play of transparencies and hues. The detachment of the punty "stacco del Puntello" denotes its completely handmade workmanship. Measurements Height: 24.7 Diameter: 11.5 cm See less
