Mid Century Modern Bertha Schaeffer Sofa for Singer & Sons Loveseat.
Rare solid walnut frame sofa with brass wire inset arm panels designed by Bertha Schaefer for Singer & Sons around 1954. Part of the critically acclaimed Singer & Sons collection with other esteemed designers including Gio Ponti, Carlo Molino, Carlo di Carli & Ico Parisi, this fantasically designed sofa has some great lines and interesting use of material on the arms. There is no makers mark on the loveseat.

The sofa could be used as is, but we recommend a full restoration and reupholster to bring back the sofa to its former glory. The upholstery has fading, dirt marks, signs of wear and use throughout. The walnut frame show signs of wear as well with scuffs marks, scratches, dents, and general discoloration throughout. The wire arm rests show signs of wear as well as discoloration, fading patina, and slight dents. One of the arms joints is loose and has a slight wiggle and will need to be re-glued.
