"Adam Style" refers to a design movement led by the Adams brothers, especially Robert Adam (1728-1792), a Scottish architect and designer. The ornate oval frame is adorned with flowers and scrolled leaves and includes swags or garlands hanging along the perimeter--hallmark signs of the Adam style. This design was inspired by ancient Roman and Greek art and architecture. This mirror is a beautiful example of early 20th century neoclassical revival craftmanship, channeling the refined, balanced designs of Robert Adams. See less
