This magnificent sterling partly gilt, Empress Eugénie Shell, is one of the shells offered by Empress Eugénie the wife of Napoleon III to the Khedive of Egypt, Ismael Pacha, for the inauguration of the Canal of Suez; handcrafted by Keller the famous French silversmith, Circa Paris 1869. This charming shell and historical shell is crowned by a wonderfully crafted butterfly, it is the culmination of silversmithing.

Hallmarked by the French Assay office with the Master Silversmith Poinçon
