At the time we purchased it, it still contained either saffron or tsampa, the food for which the form is named. Tsampa is a roasted barley flour used in the Himalayan region of Tibet. Imperfections, dents, and dings on the surface of the piece confirm that it has served a useful life during its time. The wood used appears to be burlwood. See less
