A one of a kind hand thrown ceramic bottle dating back to the late 1800s and originating from the southern Italian region of Puglia. Originally made to hold vinegar or olive oil, this antique farmhouse-style vessel is all the more striking due to its particular details. The handmade terracotta vessel has a graphic effect and ‘modern’ aesthetic thanks to its dark brown drip glaze creating a striped pattern. It also features a half glaze in an ochre brown that gives way to the raw base at the bottom. The unique piece has developed a beautiful rustic patina that only daily use and the passing of time can authentically bring about. The large historic example would be ideal as a decorative display piece to inject some farmhouse charm to any home or space, especially when pared with the matching extra large jug as can be seen in the photos. Please note the hole at the bottom of the vessel.
