Spectacular French work table, First Empire France, circa 1810.
In mahogany palm and leather embossed in gold on the envelope with a wide garland of characteristic and identifying motifs of the first Empire such as the lyre, scrolls and puttis. It is with a thick glass so that the leather and wood have been protected.
with a rectangular profile, it extends to the sides with two hidden wings, also made of mahogany wood, which can be extracted or not depending on the service you want to give it.
The front is divided into 5 registers, one central and 2 on both sides.
The drawer on the right externally simulates 2 drawers but in reality it is only one, which inside houses another secret drawer with a lock and veneered in mahogany in a very refined way.
Keep your keys.
The body rests on four legs in the form of columns in mahogany palm, enriched with gilt bronze garnishes, ormolu, heading and finishing each column, bronzes representing garlands of vines and transverse gallons in exquisite craftsmanship.
The First French Empire was established as a monarchical government by the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte in 1804 - 1815, after the dissolution of the First French Republic.
