Antique Anglo Indian hexagonal shaped porcupine quill box, c.1900
An unusual shaped folk art box made in Ceylon, now Sri Lanka, from discarded quills and ebony. The top has a brass handle and when open you can see the lid back has an elephant and the word “Galle”. This is a town in southern Sri Lanka where the box was made. Good antique condition with all quills and dots intact. Recently waxed and polished.
