Italian Pietra dura tile with two exotic birds, c.1980’s
A large marble tile with two long tailed birds with deep blue feathers and having a feathered crest on their heads. They are perched on a leafy branch. One of the birds is seen pecking at a nut. The tile is made up of numerous sections of hand cut marble to create a lifelike image. The back has an inset piece of marble for mere stability and strength. “Made Italy” is also carved on the back. Overall good condition with minor age and use wear.
