Set 12 antique mid-18th century English George II table knives with Bow porcelain pistol handles, silver ferrules and fitted with 19th c. steel blades by Frazer & Haws, Regent Street London. The porcelain hilts circa 1750.
Steel knives with silver collars and porcelain handles molded in relief and painted with enamels. Pistol-butt handles molded with rococo scrolls and festoons of flowers which are picked out in puce. An identical knife is on display at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London and may be viewed online as part of the Museum's permanent collections. .
Frazer and Haws is a British silversmith that creates heritage pieces for Queen Elizabeth, King Charles and other heads of state and notable families around the world. Past clients include eminent statesmen like Queen Victoria, Queen Mary, Mr. and Mrs. Winston Churchill, Edwina – Countess Mountbatten, Admiral Lord Nelson, Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Queen Alexandra and Edward VII.
The blades are of slightly different lengths and work well together as a set. The longest measure 10 5/8" long. Good condition - light wear, one hilt with tight hairline. Present exceptionally well with clean, bright polished steel blades.
