While it can be used as a carving board for other meats, as a charcuterie board for parties and cocktails, it has a carved-out fish-shaped groove moat to capture juices, and as it is particularly long and narrow, it was designed for large Scandinavian fish feasts. There is also a magnet to hold the knife in place, and 4 small rubber feet on the base to keep it firm and from sliding while in use.
