Ennio Morlotti (1910–1992) was a leading figure in 20th-century Italian art, known for bridging figurative painting and abstraction. Key facts:
• Deeply inspired by nature, especially landscapes and plants
• His style evolved from Post-Impressionism toward Lyrical Abstraction
• Rejected traditional perspective and narrative, focusing instead on gesture, color, and emotion
He often painted trees, and natural textures, which gradually became abstracted forms rich in expressive brushwork.
