delightful pair of art deco sculptures in vitrified cast ceramic (ceramic with added kaolin, also known as soft porcelain) depicting two stylized toucans or pelicans. Entirely hand-decorated with an airbrush and glazed with feldspar-rich glazes, which give them their particularly brilliant vitrification. The pair is signed under the base with an acronym in black, consisting of two intersecting letters, which look like an "m" and a "v" or an "m" and an "a" or an "m" and a "w," but unfortunately it is not easily decipherable. Our research has identified three artists who signed in a similar way: antonio milani, achille luciano mauzan, and franco bucci. Unfortunately, we are unable to determine exactly who created the work. These are undoubtedly two beautiful, well-made designer pieces, probably created by one of the three artists mentioned above.
