The treatment of the face, the fluidity of the clothing and the naturalness of the gesture testify to the quality of the modeling. Nicolas Lecorney, sometimes referred to as Nicolas Lecornet, was a French sculptor active between 1880 and 1884. Born in Gourgeon (Haute-Saône), his work includes allegories, nymphs, and figures of children and young girls. He exhibited at the Salon between 1880 and 1884. Notable works include "En Pénitence", a bronze sculpture of a bust of a young boy wearing a dunce cap, as well as "Le Baiser de l'enfant" and "Espagnol à la guitare". See less
