It's considered a grand deux corps, due to having the upper and lower pieces separate for easier transport and storage. It is a multi-functional storage cabinet with glass-fronted display sections and drawers. Intricate hand-carved details, including floral motifs, scrolls, particularly on the central panel and filial piece. A prominent central section with a large carved door, that locks and opens to a pull out tray and storage shelves. It is flanked by two glass-fronted display cabinets with arched tops and decorative etching on the glass that each lock and open for additional shelf storage. Below the central upper section, there are 4 lockable drawers with decorative brass pulls. On either side, there are solid wood cabinet doors with carved panels they lock and open to additional adjustable shelves for storage. Meticulously maintained during the 50 years of current ownership. There have only been two adjustments made to the piece with two circular holes made in the back of the upper storage section and pull out section for electrical outlet use. The filial piece removes from the top and the upper and lower sections disassemble to make two large movable pieces for transport. It come with all 3 original brass keys. Everything opens and slides beautifully. Originally purchased in Southern California from an Antique dealer.
