A low 19th century primitive elm milking stool raised on three stout legs. The stool would have been crafted using a hand operated lathe to achieve the rounded smooth surface to the thick top. The top displays a section missing, smoothed over time that could possibly have provided a solution for occasional run off whilst milking was carried out. It only adds to the charm of this intriguing piece of vernacular furniture, wales, circa 1850.
