An antique Napoleon III bookcase made of fine exotic woods with gilded bronze inlays, dating from the second half of … Read more An antique Napoleon III bookcase made of fine exotic woods with gilded bronze inlays, dating from the second half of the 19th century. The front features one large door and two smaller side doors, with a series of shelves inside that can be adjusted using a ladder-style system. All three doors are accentuated by bronze trim featuring geometric inlays. The base has a mixed-line profile and features a bronze cornice in the center. The legs have a curved profile and end with gilded bronze finials that have been skillfully chiseled. Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen using a traditional, handmade shellac and alcohol method. Provenance: 19th-century France. Dimensions: 180 x 45 x H170 cm.
