Titled "Grand Central Shadows," this black and white photograph depicts the shadows cast by a line of people waiting at Grand Central Terminal in New York. Unframed, the photograph is mounted on heavy paper and is signed, titled, and dated verso. A note on back reads "Limited to 20 small prints, 30 large."

Bruce Cratsley was an American photographer that graduated from Swarthmore College in 1966. He worked as a gallerist for 20 years, before becoming a full-time photographer in 1986. In 1988, Cratsley was awarded with a Guggenheim Fellowship. Cratsley followed the LGBTQA+ scene in New York throughout the AIDS epidemic, capturing important cultural events including the New York City LGBT Pride March and the first Wigstock. Today, his works belong in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Harvard Art Library. See less
