They feature a square wood base with an inset piece of gorgeous Nero Portoro marble to serve as the top. The marble is absolutely stunning. It has a black field with lovely lush gold and off-white veining. The marble does have scratches to the surface (consistent with use) and a few watermarks (see close up images). The table bases have wear at the corners and at the feet (see close ups).

These are extremely well made, super sturdy tables. They could work as end tables or paired in lieu of a coffee table.

Founded in 1858, in Grand Rapids, MI, Widdicomb was a manufacturing company with a clear eye for talent. They employed modern design masters like T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings and George Nakashima and their designs made them a must-own among interior designers and collectors. They ceased operations in 2002 but their furniture continues to be sought by connoisseurs or fine furniture. See less
