This 1930s shade, inspired by X-Ray Curtis's mercury glass, was designed for high-intensity reflection, vital for early, less powerful electric bulbs. Crafted for shop window lighting, it maximized brightness. Though often called "mercury glass," it's actually silver-plated blown glass with a baked-on green finish. This reflective technique ensured efficient light distribution, essential for illuminating displays.
