Providing … Read more Starting in 1826 the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company manufactured affordable glassware by "pressing" molten glass into decorative molds. Providing attractive yet affordable glassware to the masses throughout the 19th century. Today EAP.G (early American pressed glass) is highly collectible. This set of four antique originals are made of clear "flint" glass. The lead content of which delivers a deep bell tone when "pinged". Their "grape" and "magnet" pattern features a raised and frosted grape leaf, vine, and fruit cluster with tendrils on two sides. The other two sides embellished with a geometric arch reminiscent of a magnet.

NOTE: These are original 19th century antiques. Not 1970's and 80's reproductions created by the Imperial Glass Company and sold by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian Institute. Said copies do not "ring" due to there being no lead in the glass. Said copies can be always be identified by a raised initial imprint reading MMA or SI.

Each goblet measures approximately 6.5" high x 3.25" diameter (with slight variations due to the manufacturing process). All four are in very good antique condition with some minor mineral residue and antique use surface wear. Three have no chips, cracks, or structural issues. One has two very old and smooth "flea bite" chips on the bottom base outer edge. See photos for details. See less
