Making a tine involves bending a thin piece of wood around a form. The bent wood is overlapped. Pressing the lid down snaps it firmly into place. Norwegians have used these boxes for centuries, storing such items as food, valuables, and clothes. Not only are they functional, but also beautiful works of art. This box is signed by Nels Langsather, one of the few craftsmen still making tines in the Norwegian tradition at the time it was crafted. Measures 7 x 14 x 7.5. See less
