Brass plate engraved with a peacock and painted by hand, 1960s
, artisan production. A few decades ago from India or the Far East.
India: The peacock is the national bird of India, symbolizing beauty, immortality and divine protection.
Persia: The peacock was considered a guardian and a symbol of spiritual purity.
Islam: In Islamic art, the peacock symbolized paradise and divine harmony. Colored enamel and hand-painted patterns are usually Indian crafts.
The lack of signatures makes it difficult to date precisely, but based on the style and technique of execution, it can be assumed that it comes from the 1950s-1980s.
On 3 eyelets there are barely visible breaks in the brass.
The photo shows all the shortcomings.
