Iolite Sunstone is a gemstone with the presence of inclusions that create a shimmering effect. Also, known as the schiller effect, or as adularescence or aventurescence, is a common optical phenomenon observed in certain gemstones, particularly sunstone, where a silvery-to-bluish or glittery, sparkling effect is seen due to light scattering or interference from tiny inclusions. 
The necklace has a faceted teardrop shaped gemstones, with the center cabochon measuring 55mm.x23mm. and the two accent stones measuring 40mm.x18mm. The gemstones exhibit a range of purple and gray hues with some lighter, golden red oxide inclusions. The item is 21” in length, with a total weight of 46 grams. The necklace features intricate metalwork with small, bead-like embellishments and floral designs in aged sterling silver patina. See less
