I discovered this at an estate sale and fell in love with it. I can imagine this mysterious elegant lady being driven to a secret rendezvous. The clothes of the driver and the lady feature delicate-appearing Dresden lace. Desden lace materialized through a process where cotton lace was dipped in porcelain paste, fired, and the fabric burned away. This left the fragile porcelain in the lace pattern. The piece measures 8 x 14 x 5, and the Dresden mark is found on the underside of the piece. See less
