Domenick Capobianco (American, b. 1928), Surrealist Ladder Composition, Acrylic on Panel, depicting a purple ladder on a blue ground, apparently unsigned, unframed. 24" H x 20" W. Provenance: From the collection of the artist.
Note: Domenick Capobianco is a graduate of Washington University at St. Louis, a Rutgers Fellow (1979), and a Guggenheim Fellow (1984/85). He was an educator and mentor at Rutgers University. Capobianco’s work can be found in collections worldwide, including: The Academie des Beaux-Arts, Ljubljana, Slovenia, The Albertina Museum, Vienna, Austria, and The M.V. Nesterov Museum, Ufa, Russia. Alongside his wife, artist Elfi Schuselka (Austrian, b. 1940), he frequently exhibited with the famed 55 Mercer Gallery in New York.
