The painting has an interesting tension between rustic and sophisticated elements throughout.

The sophisticated lush floral arrangement is sitting in a rustic pottery water pitcher with one handle.
The minimalist background has the texture of a rustic French country cottage, but the griege coloring feels more formal and elegant.
Even the frame has this juxtaposition: made of light wood free of ornamentation, it has a top layer of steel blue which gives the effect of matte gold peeking through the sophisticated coloring.
