The chest features veneer rosewood decorated with bronze mounts in the corners; it is fitted with six serpentine drawers embellished with checkerboard stringing inlay, and dressed with ornate bronze handles and matching escutcheons. The cabinet is in fair condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Place this tall multi-drawer chest in your bedroom or bathroom for extra storage! Key included. A Semainier is a tall, narrow chest traditionnaly with seven drawers, one for each day of the "Semaine" (week in English); the traditional storage unit was used to organize a week's supply of lingerie, shirts, etc...
