Crafted in Paris, France circa 1950, this elegant pair of vintage five-light wall sconces beautifully combines intricate metalwork with colorful hand-painted porcelain flowers. Designed in the romantic Louis XV Rococo style, each fixture features a gracefully shaped central backplate supporting five scrolling arms, creating a delicate and whimsical floral arrangement.
The elaborate gilt bronze-tone metalwork is embellished with finely detailed leaves, curling vines, and blooming flowers, giving the sconces the appearance of climbing floral branches. Scattered throughout the composition are delicate porcelain blossoms, individually hand-painted in a vibrant palette of pink, red, yellow, blue, and green. The charming flowers provide a delightful contrast to the rich patinated gilt finish of the sculptural metal framework.
Each of the five scrolling arms is fitted with a decorative foliate bobeche and a faux dripping wax candle sleeve. Both fixtures have been newly wired to US standards and are ready for installation.
The elegant French wall sconces are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, retaining their beautiful patinated finish and vibrant porcelain floral decorations. Perfect for flanking a mirror in a powder room, dressing a romantic bedroom, or adding a colorful decorative accent to an entryway or living room.
