5’ 7” x 9' A beautiful Persian Nain room-size rug in a very rare French blue color and cream colors … Read more 5’ 7” x 9' A beautiful Persian Nain room-size rug in a very rare French blue color and cream colors with silk highlights from the 3rd quarter of the 1900s. The Nain rug has a beautiful central medallion set in a French blue field with designs in caramel, cream and red colors. The corner spandrels are in cream color with floral designs in blue. It has a cream-colored border which provides balance to the field colors. The design of the Nain rug is reminiscent of the beautiful stained glass windows in the great cathedrals of Europe such as the Notre Dame and Chartres in France. The use of floral patterns in the field with silk highlights makes for a great design.
