Old ink cake depicting Ganjin's (Jianzhen) journey to the East. Known by his Japanese name Ganjin, Jianzhen (688–763) was a Tang Chinese monk credited with the introduction of the Ritsu school of Buddhism to Japan. Ink cake is in excellent condition and comes in its original presentation box. Made by the Hu Kaiwen factory, China, this high quality ink cake measures 4 1/8” diameter. Dates circa 1950s.
