Paul Braslow (1927-2013- CA/Isreal). An original bronze sculptural work by Paul Braslow. Braslow's works are reminiscent of works by Albertos Giacometti in that they portray elongated forms. Where Giacometti's works are somewhat hard edged and brutalist, Braslow's are smooth and flowing. This work's appeal is further enhanced by the patina applied and contrasted by the gilt finish. It is an engaging and thought provoking work.
The work is signed and numbered from an edition of 25. It is mounted on black stone plinth and is a reasonably heavy and substantial piece for it's size.
Total Measurements: 9.5" H x 4" x 4"
Mr. Braslow received an Arts degree from UCLA and spent time in Japan, England, and Italy.
He has created public works in Israel, which include Entebbe Rescue Memorial at Ben-Gurion Airport and sculptures for Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum and Haifa Museum of Modern Art.
