This paper mache grouse is of the size, style and design found in Sergio Bustamante's works.
From the height of 17.25 inches, the quality of the paint application and the design on the bird are all indicative of Bustamante's birds. The brass perch can also be found in his art sculptures.

Folk art paper-mache quail or grouse game bird on a perch, crafted in the style of Sergio Bustamante (Mexican, born 1949). The work features hand-painted details and textured surface, with the bird perched on an arched metal stand, suspended from a partial link chain. No apparent markings.

The quail or grouse measures 21" long, 9 1/2" wide and 17 1/4" tall.
The perch or roost measures 16 1/2" wide, 1/2" deep and 32 1/4" tall to chain end. See less
