Bands of ochre yellow and deep olive move across the canvas-covered body, framed by dark iron strapping, decorative corner mounts, and leather side handles. Dating to the late 19th to early 20th century, its low architectural form and richly layered palette give it the presence of a found art object, compelling at the foot of a bed, beneath a console, or anchoring a living room.
