Offered is a rare 1960s Danish "Martian" corkscrew designed by Jacob Jensen for BRDR Bonfils, Denmark. The head comes off to reveal a corkscrew. The ears serve as a handle to twist the corkscrew and extract the cork. Similar to the iconic works of Kay Bojesen and his hanging monkeys and other Danish designers of the era who made charming trolls, Vikings, mice, elephants and other whimsical figurative home design dual function pieces, this little guy will make you smile with his happy silly wide smile. The wood appears to be olive-wood.
