A handsome blue-grey faux shagreen and verdigris bronze finish Asian-style altar table or console table made by Maitland Smith. Shagreen is an untanned leather that is dyed in the manner of the rough skin used from sharks and sting rays. This material has been used all through the centuries. This particular piece has a very contemporary look to it that would work well with antiques or contemporary design. The table is structurally and in very good condition and ready to place. Metal plate underside signed "Maitland Smith".
