A charming and fantastic vintage French terracotta rabbit made at the Poterie du Mesnil de Bavent in Normandy, France, and was originally made to be a roof ornament! The Bavent Potteries were originally opened in 1842 and are still making pottery today in the same town in northern France. This dapper fellow dates from the mid 20th century and he is in excellent condition. He has cracks, breaks, or repairs. The faience glaze over terracotta looks wonderful and gives this charming rabbit a true air of whimsy. His eyes are deep brown glass. His three markings are Bavent Normandie, Made in France, and Modele Depose (Registered Design).
Measures: 9" L x 4" w x 4" h. He weighs 3.5 pounds.
