A glass and cream lacquered walnut coffee table designed by Gio Ponti, Model 1101, for Singer and Sons, imported from Italy c. 1950s. This piece retains its original thin glass top with bubbles around the circumferential edge. This was an early technique which allowed for the the glass to be tempered. The base with an elegant silhouette comprising rolled edges ending in razor fine points, all balanced upon solid brass capped feet. A true design masterwork. Unmarked.
Dimensions: 41.25”wide x 14.25”H
Condition: Cream lacquer shows well. Minor chips to edges of the glass. The glass with some light scratches due to age and use. Attractive patina to brass feet. Overall fine vintage Condition.
