Large antique Anglo Indian porcupine quill box, c.1880
Made in Ceylon, now Sri Lanka, out of porcupine quills and ebony wood. A traditional local folk art using local materials. This box is in very good condition with all quills and dots intact. The interior lid is also decorated with an inlaid ebony panel. Recently waxed and polished.
