This minimal watercolor painting depicts a city skyline using earthy tones of warm rust and deep blue. The loose, almost abstract brushstrokes give the impression of buildings emerging from the mist, with a dreamy, atmospheric quality. The simplicity of the composition focuses on mood rather than detail, offering a contemplative view of an urban landscape.
Nancy Smith studied art at Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Olivet Nazarene University and then with world renowned artist, Estelle Fedelle, who is best known for her how-to books published by Walter Foster Publications. A life-long learner, Nancy currently studies with Helen Kleczynski, an award winning watercolor and pastel artist in Vicksburg, MI. Nancy’s art has been featured in shows in the Chicagoland area and Southwest Michigan. Many of her pieces are part of private collections across the United States.
