This Swedish Gustavian style chest features a rectangular top with canted corners in the front, sitting above a breakfront façade. The three hand-cut dovetailed drawers, are adorned with delicate dentil motif, typical of the Gustavian era. This recessed movement is on the three drawer's front, adorned with an exquisite décor, made of carved medallions in the upper section, and fluted motifs below. The commode is raised on four carved tapered feet. With its soft colored hand scraped paint finish, typical of the Scandinavian taste for a pale grey/ white palette, and its elegant Gustavian lines, this Swedish commode will bring a graceful presence to any room, from a bedroom to a living room.
